One hundred kilometres of the MacLehose Trail as a team
Oxfam Trailwalker Hong Kong is a 100 km team challenge across the New Territories, raising money for Oxfam's work against poverty.
The 2026 event runs from Friday 20 to Sunday 22 November. Teams of four set off from Pak Tam Chung in Sai Kung in waves at 8:00, 9:30, 11:00 and 12:30 on Friday and follow sections 1 to 10 of the MacLehose Trail to the finish at Harrow International School in Tuen Mun. Every team must finish together within 48 hours, and there are nine checkpoints along the way.
The MacLehose Trail crosses the New Territories from east to west with many hills along the way, so it is a real test of endurance for walkers and runners alike. Teams plan their own support and rest stops.
For the event's 50th anniversary there is a new 20 km edition on Saturday 21 November, starting at Rotary Park on Tai Mo Shan, with a time limit of 8 hours. It gives people a shorter way into the event.
Since 1986 more than 100,000 people have taken part, raising over 600 million Hong Kong dollars. Support crews can meet their teams at the checkpoints and at the finish in Tuen Mun.
On Livebib you can follow a participant who chooses to share their own live position from the phone they carry. This is not the organiser's timing, and the official results come from the Oxfam Trailwalker Hong Kong.
