Lima 42K, live.

From Parque Kennedy through the streets of Miraflores

The adidas, RIMAC Lima 42K is a marathon and a half marathon on the streets of Miraflores, both starting at Parque Kennedy. The 2026 edition was run on Sunday 24 May. The organiser, Peru Runners, has not yet published the date of the next one.

The start is at Parque Kennedy, Av. José Larco 400, at 5:30 in the morning. In 2026 the marathon (42.195 km) and the half (21.098 km) set off together in five waves, each gathering at its own corner of Miraflores, from La Paz and Diez Canseco to Benavides and Larco, and leaving between 5:35 and 5:59. Nobody crosses the start arch after 6:09. The half finishes on Av. Diagonal and the marathon on Av. Larco, the marathon has a six-hour limit, and the roads are fully closed to traffic from 4:45.

The organiser's route map draws the marathon as two laps, and its own description promises historic streets, the malecón and the cheering of the crowd. The marathon carries the World Athletics Elite Label, and both courses are certified by World Athletics and AIMS. The runner guide warns of fog and high humidity in the first hours, with some sun later in the morning. The race began in 2009 at the Pentagonito with 7,000 runners, moved to Miraflores in 2022 on a route inspired by the Lima 2019 Pan American Games, and passed 16,000 runners in 2023.

With thousands of people on the same streets, spotting one runner is the hard part. On Livebib the runner shares a link with whoever they choose. Family and friends open it in a browser, no app or account needed, and see the position on the course line, distance covered and a finish estimate for Av. Larco or Av. Diagonal that updates as the race goes. If the phone loses its signal between buildings, the position is carried forward along the course and marked as estimated instead of freezing.
