One lap of Lake Öljaren between two park runs

The 2026 Swedish duathlon championship is decided at Julita gård in Sörmland, running in the estate park and riding round the lake.

Julita Duathlon is held on Saturday 3 October 2026 and is this year’s Swedish championship (SM) in duathlon. The elite race starts at 15:00 and the age-group (RM) and motion classes at 15:30, closing out the Julita Loppet running day. The format is 40 km: a 5 km run, a 30 km ride and another 5 km run to the finish in front of Stora huset, the main house of the Julita gård estate.

Each run is three laps of about 1.7 km on the gravel paths of the estate park, almost flat and fast, and the organiser calls it spectator-friendly. The ride is one lap of Lake Öljaren through rolling farmland and small villages, around 200 m of climbing, with two stop signs that apply to everyone and a fast finish on road 214. The roads stay open to traffic, drafting is banned and riders keep at least twelve metres between front wheels. Entrants must turn 18 during 2026.

The park laps are in plain view, but the ride round Öljaren is thirty kilometres where nobody at transition sees anything. With Livebib, the athlete shares a link to their own broadcast, and family open it in a browser with no account and no app: the position on the course line around the lake, the distance so far and a finish estimate that updates during the race. If the phone loses signal, the position is carried forward along the course and marked as estimated, never as measured. The athlete decides who gets the link.
