Through the Old City, from the Knesset to Sacher Park

The International Jerusalem Winner Marathon starts beside the Knesset and runs through the Old City, past sites that span 3,000 years of the city's history.

The 16th International Jerusalem Winner Marathon takes place on Friday 19 March 2027. The programme has a marathon of 42.2 km, a half marathon of 21.1 km, a 10 km race, a 5 km race, a 1.7 km family race and an 800 m community race. All races start at the junction of Rupin Road and Kaplan, between the Knesset and the Israel Museum.

The marathon leaves at 06:30 and runs through the city centre and along Jaffa Street to Ammunition Hill, then around the Mount Scopus campus of the Hebrew University. It comes back through Jaffa Gate and the Armenian Quarter to Zion Gate, climbs from the Sultan's Pool towards Emek Refaim and, after the promenades and Hebron Road, runs through the Valley of the Cross to the finish at Sacher Park. The organiser recommends the full marathon only to runners who have completed at least two half marathons in the previous two years.

The half marathon starts at 06:15 and visits the Old City and the City of David before finishing on Ben Zvi Boulevard. The 10 km goes in waves from 09:00, and the 5 km, which loops the Givat Ram campus, in waves from 07:00. Minimum ages are 18 for the marathon, 16 for the half, 14 for the 10 km and 10 for the 5 km, and the event is accessible to people with a disability.

Spectators should plan for closed roads from 05:00 on race day. Free shuttles run between 04:15 and 12:00 from Teddy Stadium, Mount Herzl and the Shaare Zedek Medical Center. The staging area in Sacher Park, close to the finish, is the easiest place to meet participants afterwards.
