Eilat Desert Marathon, live.

Off-road running in the Eilat desert

The Eilat Desert Marathon is an off-road running event in the desert near Eilat in southern Israel, organised by Marathon Israel.

The 2026 edition is on Friday 27 November. The start times are staggered: the 42.2 km goes at 06:20, the 21.1 km at 06:50, the 10 km at 07:05 and the 5 km at 07:20.

The courses run on trail, gravel and sand. The marathon has 609 metres of cumulative ascent, a 6.5 hour limit and 16 stations along the way. The 21.1 km has 248 metres of ascent.

Desert ground and the climbing make the marathon a step up from a road marathon, and it suits people with trail experience. The 10 km and 5 km are a friendly way to try running off-road, and the half marathon sits in between.

With four staggered starts in an hour, supporters can watch several distances set off on the same morning. Check the organiser's event page for the start and finish area and transport.

On Livebib you can follow a participant live when that person chooses to share their own position from the phone they carry during the race. The dot on the map comes from the participant's phone, not from the organiser's timing, and the official results are published by the organiser.
