Through Nordmarka to the Holmenkollen arena

Holmenkollmarsjen is Skiforeningen's classic long distance ski race through Nordmarka above Oslo, held on Saturday 20 February 2027 with 52 km, 29 km and 17 km.

The main race, Holmenkollmarsjen 52 km, starts at Sørkedalen Idrettsforening and finishes inside the Holmenkollen national arena. On the way you climb 1020 metres in total, with demanding hills, frozen lakes, easy stretches and descents, and the small hilly forest terrain that Nordmarka is known for. Drink stations are at Heggelivann, Storflåtan, Langlia, Fyllingen, Kobberhaughytta and Tryvann.

Halvmarsjen, 29 km, starts and finishes at the Holmenkollen national arena. It begins with nearly 100 metres of climbing over the first 1.5 km on artificial snow, and the first drink station comes after just over seven kilometres. Turmarsjen and Ungdomsmarsjen share a 17 km course from the arena, which moves from artificial snow in Holmenkollen to natural snow further into the forest and ends on the 2011 World Championship tracks. Turmarsjen is timed without ranking, and Ungdomsmarsjen is for young people aged 13 to 16.

The 52 km is a full long distance day in classic technique and is part of the Ski Classics Challengers, while the shorter courses suit skiers who want the Holmenkollen atmosphere without the whole distance.

Getting there is easy without a car. Take metro line 1 to Holmenkollen. For the 52 km, a shuttle bus runs from VM-plassen to the start in Sørkedalen about every 20 minutes from 06:30, with a journey of around 20 minutes and a ticket of 100 kroner. There is no return bus to Sørkedalen after the race. At the finish in the national arena every participant gets a medal, and there are heated changing tents and an after ski tent.
