Hengelo's Easter Monday race from the FBK Stadion

The Halve van Hengelo is a road race on Easter Monday that starts and finishes inside the FBK Stadion and heads out into the countryside south of Hengelo.

The 53rd edition is on Monday 29 March 2027. Participants choose between the half marathon of 21.1 km, 15 km, 10 km and 5 km, with a 1.5 km kids run and a 500 m Bambino race for the youngest. Over the years the field has grown to about 1,800 runners across the six distances.

All distances share one course. It runs largely through the rural area of Twekkelo south of the town, and the shorter races use part of the half marathon route. The 21.1 km, 15 km and 10 km are officially measured by the Atletiekunie. The 5 km splits off after 1.9 km, so watch the signs there. Kilometres are marked with boards, and there is a water post with water and sports drink every 5 km.

The organisers describe the course as fast, which makes it a good spring race for anyone chasing a time over 10 km or the half marathon, and the 5 km gives newer runners a first race in a real stadium. Companies can enter teams in the Bedrijvenklassement on the 10 km route.

Spectators gather in the FBK Stadion, where start and finish both take place and entry is free.

On Livebib you can follow a participant who chooses to share their own live position from the phone they carry. This is not the organiser's timing, and the official results come from the organiser.
