Classic skiing on Kvamsfjellet at the gate to Rondane

Furusjøen Rundt-rennet is a classic technique ski race on Kvamsfjellet in Gudbrandsdalen on Saturday 20 February 2027, with 45 km, 20 km and 12 km from Rudland Fjellsenter.

The race is held on Kvamsfjellet, at the entrance to Rondane National Park, and the course climbs from forested hills up to the open, bare mountain. All classes ski in classic technique, and start and finish are at the stadium at Rudland Fjellsenter in Kvam. The same organiser also stages a bike race and a running race, and the running race is set for 4 September 2027.

The 45 km is the main race. It is part of the Ski Classics Challengers, it is a seeding race for Birkebeinerrennet, Vasaloppet and Marcialonga, and it is open from age 15. The first real climb takes the field up to Smukksjøen, and from there the course continues across the open mountain. The course has a lot of double poling terrain, and participants have described it as the perfect build up to Vasaloppet.

For a shorter day there is the 20 km Turrenn, timed and open from 15, and a 20 km trim and family class without timing, open from 13. The 12 km trim and family race, also without timing, is the shortest option, and a family entry takes up to five people from one household with no age limit.

Start numbers can be collected on the Friday before the race at Sport 1 Ringebu or Sport 1 Vinstra, or at the race office, which is at Kiwi Kvam on Friday and at the stadium on race day. Spectators can follow the start and finish at the Rudland Fjellsenter stadium. Dress for wind and cold, since the weather on Kvamsfjellet can change quickly in February.

On Livebib you can follow a participant who chooses to share their own live position from the phone they carry during the race. This is a separate service and not the organiser's timing. Official times and results come from Furusjøen Rundt.
