Three days down the Saint-Maurice

The Classique internationale de canots de la Mauricie is a three-day canoe race of about 200 km down the Saint-Maurice river in Quebec, from La Tuque to Trois-Rivières.

The 93rd edition runs from Saturday 4 to Monday 6 September 2027, on the Labour Day weekend as every year. The race was founded in 1934 and brings more than 200 athletes onto the water. New organisers took over the event in 2025.

Stage 1 starts from the Quai Dénommé-Goyette in La Tuque and finishes at Saint-Roch-de-Mékinac. Stage 2 continues down the river to Shawinigan, and stage 3 runs from Shawinigan-Sud to the finish on Île St-Quentin in Trois-Rivières.

The Classique is the final leg of the canoe marathon Triple Crown, after the General Clinton race and the AuSable River Canoe Marathon in Michigan. Its record book is dominated by Serge Corbin, who won it 26 times.

The organiser publishes GPS points for every stage start and finish, along with a page of the best places to see the athletes during the race. Over the three days the paddlers face the rapids and portages of the Saint-Maurice. Entries for 2027 are due to open soon on the organiser's site.

On Livebib you can follow a paddler live if they choose to share their own position from the phone they carry on board, for example in a dry bag. That position comes from the paddler, not from the organiser's timing, and the official results are published by the organiser.
