This page covers the Black River Run 100 miles in 2026. Each lap is 16.1 kilometres: technical trail for the first five, a faster stretch along the Svartån river, and the climbs up under the E18 bridge at the end. Ten laps make about 160 kilometres and roughly a thousand metres of climbing. The time limit is 30 hours, and no new lap may start after 13:30 on the Sunday. Anyone who finishes the hundred miles inside 24 hours receives the race belt buckle.

The night is the heart of this distance. The organisers expect it to be dark in the forest from about 19:30 to 06:00, and from 18:00 a headlamp, spare batteries and a simple spare lamp are required for every new lap. At the lap point there is goulash soup from about 21:00 to midnight and rice porridge from 06:00 to 08:00. Each runner may have one support person, but only on the grass area at the lap point. Pacers are allowed after 20:00, one at a time, and may not carry anything for the runner.

Thirty hours is a long time to wait by a lap tent.
