Farmland, forest and the Baltic from Ånga Gård

Ångaloppet fills Ånga Gård outside Nyköping with swimrunners on Saturday 7 August 2027, with every race starting and finishing at the farm.

Ångaloppet runs five competitions in 2027, all from Ånga Gård, a farm between lake Ången and the Baltic coast outside Nyköping. Nyköpings OK helps build the competition centre. The swimrun courses take in the lake, the sea and the forest in between, and the day also offers a 10 km trail run without swimming and family races in the afternoon.

The 22 km race starts at 10:00 for teams of two and solo racers, with 20 km of running and 2 km of swimming over 24 swims, the longest about 200 m and the shortest about 30 m. It starts on the classic route with swims in the Baltic and then joins the 11 km course, and there is a cut-off at the Ånga Gård checkpoint at 13:30. The 11 km race also starts at 10:00, with 10 km of running and 1 km of swimming over 10 swims: three in lake Ången, then seven in the sea. The 5 km starts at 13:00, with about 4.7 km of running and 300 m of swimming over 3 swims.

Expect forest tracks, gravel roads, pastures, dense forest, cliffs and stretches of off-trail terrain, at times hilly, and the whole course is marked. The 22 km course, new in 2026, is the organiser's most challenging race. The 11 km is a solid middle step, and the 5 km is a friendly first race, with a reduced fee for under 18s and over 65s. Fluid stations are spread along every swimrun course.

Spectators can follow the start, the passes through the farm and the finish at Ånga Gård. The family races at 14:30 and 15:00 give children up to 15 a short run, swim or wade with a parent or friend, with a medal for everyone.
