Twenty kilometres from the Cinquantenaire past the monuments of Brussels
The 20 km de Bruxelles, in its 47th edition on Sunday 30 May 2027, links the monuments of the Belgian capital over one distance.
The race starts from the Cinquantenaire, its historic start, at 10:00. Handisport participants start at 09:30 and walkers at 11:30. The route is 20 km through the city, past the landmarks that make Brussels.
The first edition, on 8 June 1980, brought 4,659 participants to the start, and in 1982 the race left from the Cinquantenaire for the first time, to the music of Ravel's Boléro. Six SPA water points and 14 Red Cross tents line the course, and the organiser uses reusable cups to cut waste.
Runners set off from 10:00 in six waves, about 15 minutes apart, and walkers follow in wave 7. The time limit is 5 hours, a Powerade drink is handed out in the Bois de la Cambre, and music bands play along the way.
The organiser invites spectators to come and cheer the participants all along the course. Every finisher receives a medal and can have their time engraved on it at the INFO stand.
On Livebib you can follow a participant who chooses to share their own live position from the phone they carry. This is not the organiser's timing, and the official results come from the 20 km de Bruxelles.
