Vitality Westminster Mile, live.

One mile for every age, finishing at the Palace

The Vitality Westminster Mile is a one mile road race for all ages and abilities that starts on The Mall and finishes in front of Buckingham Palace.

The 2027 edition is on Saturday 25 September 2027, the day before the Vitality London 10,000, and is organised by London Marathon Events. It was launched in 2013 as a legacy event from the 2012 Olympic Games, and the organiser calls it the only mile event to finish outside Buckingham Palace.

Most people take between six and 20 minutes to reach the finish. Those who plan to run should head towards the front at the start line, and those who plan to jog or walk further back. Participants start in waves and may move back to a later wave on the day, but not forward. There is no cut-off time.

There is no minimum age, entry is free for under 11s, and parents who want to run with their child should enter at the same time as they register the child. Wheelchairs and similar assistive devices can be pushed around the course, and support runners can be arranged. Medals are opt in when entering.

The event takes place in and around St James's Park, which has many accessible spectator areas. The bag drop and the free Vitality Wellness Festival, with a family fun zone and sport taster sessions, are in Green Park.

Livebib lets family and friends follow a participant live if that person chooses to share the position of the phone they carry. It is not the organiser's timing system, and official results always come from the organiser.
