10K TUYENLAM

The course rolls up and down from the start, then after the Lavender aid station enters the forest of the Tuyen Lam Lake National Tourist Area, with the lake in view from several points. Between Lavender and the Clay House aid station it is mostly shaded by tree canopy; after Clay House it flattens out and returns to the finish at the Clay Tunnel, beside a life-size clay sculpture. Half of it is dirt road and double track, 45 per cent singletrack and very little tarmac.

The maximum time is 5 hours, the minimum age is 12, and crews may help only at the two aid stations, Lavender and Clay House. Aid is cup-less, so every runner carries a cup or a hydration pack. The organiser expects the first finisher in under an hour. It is the shortest race and the last start of the day.

Because it starts and finishes at the same place the long races end, it is easy to be at the Clay Tunnel for more than one runner. On Livebib each runner shares a link to their own broadcast, opened in a browser with no app or account: where they are on the loop, how far they have come and a finish estimate that updates as they go. A position carried through a gap in signal is marked estimated, never measured, and the runner decides who sees it.
