A classic style ski day at Vemdalsskalet

Vemdalen Winter Classic is a cross-country ski race in classic style at Vargenmyren in Vemdalsskalet, Vemdalen.

Vemdalen Winter Classic is organised by Vemdalen Event and Vemdalens IF and takes place on 20 February 2027. The organiser describes an easy and joyful race where the experience comes first: a winter day in the mountains, the glide in the tracks and nature shared together. Each participant sets their own pace. From 2027 the 46 km race is an official seeding race for Vasaloppet.

The course winds through the white landscape of Vemdalsskalet at Vargenmyren. The organiser calls it easy to ski and suited to both beginners and recreational skiers. Every distance starts on a green transit track, continues with laps of a red loop and returns on the green transit track to the finish.

The distances are 11, 23 and 46 km. The 11 km covers 1 lap of the red loop, the 23 km covers 2 laps and the 46 km covers 4 laps. All distances start together at 10:30. Bibs are handed out at Vemdalen Ski Shop on Friday 19 February from 15.00 to 18.00, and at the start and finish area on race morning from 09:00 to 10:00. The last finish is expected at 15:00, when the after ski opens at Vemdalsskalets Högfjällshotell, and prize giving follows at 15:30 at the start and finish area.

Laps pass through the start and finish area, so people watching there see the field more than once. A participant can choose to share their own live position on Livebib from the phone they carry. This is not the organiser's timing, and official results come from the organiser.
