Västervik City Run, live.

Two loops through central Västervik

Västervik City Run is an evening town race in the centre of Västervik, starting and finishing by Grönsakstorget and Fiskaretorget.

Västervik City Run is a town race through the centre of Västervik, organised by Västerviks Ishockey Klubb and run on the Monday of week 28 since 2011. It opens the week of the Visfestival in Västervik, and the organiser describes it as an exercise race with a women's class and a men's class, built so that the people taking part pass close to a crowd along the course.

The course is 6.3 km, made up of two loops of about 3 km, with start, lap and finish at Grönsakstorget and Fiskaretorget. Each loop follows the cycle paths along the water past Stegeholm castle ruin and the guest harbour, comes back along Gamlebyviken, then climbs from Reginelundsparken into the streets of the old town before heading down Storgatan and back to Strandvägen for the finish on Fiskaregatan. The organiser notes that the short distance can still feel demanding, especially on the rise at Reginelundsparken.

For the youngest, Sparbanksloppet is a 700 metre children's race for children up to 10 years old, starting at 19:00. City Run itself starts at 20:00 on Monday 12 July 2027. Around 600 participants usually take part across the two races, and spectators gather around the squares for the start, the lap and the finish, as well as along the course.

A participant can choose to share their own live position on Livebib from the phone they carry, so family and friends can follow from home. This is not the organiser's timing, and official results come from the organiser.
