UTCT 100 Miles
A hundred and sixty-one kilometres with 8,000 metres of ascent, which is an alpine climbing total on a course that never leaves sight of the sea. The route works from the northern mountains of Table Mountain National Park — the contour paths, Platteklip, the traverses above Camps Bay — south past Llandudno, Hout Bay and Karbonkelberg, and then out into the far quieter southern range toward Silvermine, Kalk Bay and Simonstown before turning back for the finish in the city.
It is the hardest thing on the African trail calendar and the front of the field is international. Most of the course is technical, exposed and hours from a road. On Livebib the whole line is drawn with the runner on it: distance done, the aid stations in order, and an arrival estimate for the next one and for the finish that keeps moving through both nights.
