UCI Gran Fondo Chile: one 114 km loop of Lake Ranco (1,554 m) or an 80 km out-and-back. Planned for 4 October 2026 in Lago Ranco, now postponed.

Lago Ranco, Los Ríos · October 4, 2026

Once around Lake Ranco

A road gran fondo that is one lap of one of Chile’s largest lakes, with a shorter course that rides the other way round and turns at exactly forty kilometres.

UCI Gran Fondo Chile was planned for Sunday 4 October 2026 in Lago Ranco, in the Los Ríos region, about two hours south-east of Valdivia, the day after UCI Gravel Chile on the same lakeshore. It is a UCI Gran Fondo World Series qualifier, run by the team behind the series’ races in Brazil and Colombia. The organiser has since announced that the weekend is being rescheduled and that a new date will follow; this page describes the course as published.

The Gran Fondo is a single loop of Lake Ranco: 114 km, start and finish in Lago Ranco, and 1,554 metres of climbing that the organiser describes as always going up and down, with several short, punchy climbs. It is the qualifier distance for men 19–59 and women 19–49. The 80 km Medio Fondo sets off the other way, clockwise round the lake, makes a U-turn after exactly 40 km and comes back on the same road, for 723 metres of climbing; it is the qualifier for men 60+ and women 50+.

A lap of a lake is easy to follow if you know where the rider is on it. With Livebib the rider shares a link; family and friends open it in a browser, no account and no app, and see the position on the loop, the distance covered and a finish estimate for Lago Ranco that updates as the ride goes. On the Medio Fondo the turn at 40 km shows on the line as it happens, and if the phone drops signal between villages the position carries on along the road, marked as estimated.
