From a football stadium to the top of South Korea
TransJeju by UTMB is a UTMB World Series event on Jeju island, run from 2 to 4 October 2026, with four races from 20 to 148 kilometres.
The two long races start inside Jeju World Cup Stadium and are billed by the organiser as “Zero to Summit”: both climb to the top of Mt. Halla, the highest mountain in South Korea. Jeju100M covers 148 km with 5,000 m of ascent and starts at 21:00 on Friday 2 October, with a maximum time of 37 hours. Jeju100K covers 104 km with 4,000 m and starts at 05:00 on Saturday 3 October, with 29 hours. Bib pick-up and the expo run at the stadium on Thursday and Friday.
The two shorter races start inland at Gasiri. Jeju60K (60 km, 1,400 m) leaves the Jeju Horse Park at 08:00 on Saturday after a shuttle from the stadium, runs through Hallasan National Park and finishes back at the stadium, with 15 hours. Jeju20K (20 km, 508 m) starts at 10:00 from Gasiri Horse Park among oreum, farmland, grassland and the Gammajang path, with four hours. Every checkpoint has food, drink and a first-aid post, and the course is marked with pink ribbons and reflective markers for the night.
The 100M runner leaves the stadium in the dark and can be on the move for a day and a half, through two nights and a long stretch on the mountain where a phone may lose its signal. On Livebib the runner shares a link to their own broadcast, and family and friends open it in a browser, with no account and no app. They see the position on the course line, the distance covered and a finish estimate that updates as the race goes. When the signal drops, the position is carried forward along the course and marked as estimated rather than freezing, and the runner decides who gets the link.
