Obstacles in Göteborg's park

Tough Viking Slottsskogen is an 8 km obstacle race through the green slopes of Slottsskogen in Göteborg on Saturday 24 April 2027.

The course starts and finishes at Linnéplatsen and loops through Slottsskogen's hilly terrain and classic city park setting. Along the 8 km there are about 27 obstacles, including water crossings. In April the water is around 7 to 8 degrees and the ice tanks are close to zero, so plan your clothing for being cold and wet.

You enter as an individual in the open class or together with others. The classes are Open Female and Open Male, Duo in mixed, women's and men's versions, Trio, and Team for four or more. Teams choose the same team name and the same start group when they sign up. Participants must be at least 12 to race the open class, and anyone under 18 needs a waiver signed by a parent.

Start times are chosen during registration while places last, and your start time and bib number are also sent by text message closer to race day. Start envelopes are collected at the black Tough Viking tents in Slottsskogen near Linnéplatsen, no later than one hour before your start and with valid ID.

The organisers say the race suits both experienced OCR athletes and recreational runners who want to push their limits. The prize ceremony is held at the start area at 11:30, and food trucks and coffee vendors are on site. Parking in the area is very limited, so the organisers recommend public transport to Linnéplatsen.

On Livebib, a participant can choose to share their own live position from the phone they carry, so friends can follow along on the map. This is not the organiser's timing, and the official results come from Tough Viking.
