Mumbai's January road race

The Tata Mumbai Marathon is Mumbai's World Athletics Gold Label road race, held every year on the third Sunday of January.

The 2027 Tata Mumbai Marathon is on Sunday 17 January. The programme includes the marathon, the half marathon and the Open 10K. The organisers have not yet published start places or start times for 2027, so check closer to race day.

The race holds a World Athletics Gold Label, which puts it among the leading marathons in the world. Alongside the elite marathon field, thousands of runners from India and across the globe gather on the streets of Mumbai.

Charity is a central part of the event. Over the years participants and supporters have raised more than 500 crore rupees for good causes, and many people run for a charity of their choice.

Bibs are collected at the expo from 14 to 16 January. January mornings in Mumbai are the coolest of the year but can still be warm by the end of the race, so an early, steady pace and regular drinking help. The event is organised by Procam International.
