Taipei Marathon, live.

From City Hall Plaza through the capital

The Taipei Marathon is the capital's December road race, with a marathon, a half marathon and a wheelchair half marathon.

The 2026 Taipei Marathon is on Sunday 20 December. The marathon starts at 6:30 at Taipei City Hall Plaza and finishes at Taipei Municipal Stadium, with a time limit of 5 hours and 30 minutes. It has 9,000 places.

The half marathon starts at 7:00 and finishes on Section 4 of Nanjing East Road, with a time limit of 3 hours and 19,000 places. The wheelchair half marathon starts a few minutes earlier, at 6:55.

The marathon is run under the World Athletics label race regulations, and traffic control is in place along the route, so the organiser asks everyone to be at City Hall Plaza before the start. The course takes in Ketagalan Boulevard, Zhongshan North Road and several riverside parks, turns at the Taipei Metro Neihu Depot at about 26.7 km and comes back along Nanjing East Road to the stadium. A December date usually means cooler weather in Taipei, which helps anyone aiming for a good time. Checkpoints along the route close at set times, the turning point at 9:59, so plan your pace for them.

The event is organised by the Taipei City Government together with the Chinese Taipei Athletics Association and the Chinese Taipei Road Running Association. Spectators can watch the start at City Hall Plaza and the finish around the stadium.

On Livebib you can follow a participant who chooses to share their own live position from the phone they carry. This is not the organiser's timing, and the official results come from the Taipei Marathon.
