New Year's Eve running in Anderstorp

Sylvesterloppet is a New Year's Eve race in Anderstorp, organised by the club Anderstorps OK.

Sylvesterloppet is the New Year's Eve race that Anderstorps OK holds in Anderstorp by tradition. The first race was run in 1985, and in 2025 the club organised it for the 40th time. The club says it looks forward to meeting participants, spectators and volunteers again.

The 10 km and 5 km courses have been checked by a course measurer from the Swedish Athletics Federation. The start is behind the swimming hall and the finish is in front of it. In its report from 2025 the club called the course relatively hilly. Drinks are served at the water tower on the long course and at the finish for everyone.

The field chooses between 10 km and 5 km, and children run Lilla Sylvesterloppet, about 1.5 km, which starts on Karlavägen by the entrance to the home straight. Every child gets a medal and a banana. Times are not shown in the results for the children's race or the 5 km fitness class. Entry is through the club's form by 27 December, and late entry is possible on the day.

People who come to watch can use the grill serving, which is open to all. The club publishes the start list on its website the day before the race. A participant can choose to share their own live position on Livebib from their phone, so family and friends can follow from home. This is not the organiser's timing, and official results come from Anderstorps OK.
