From the foot of a waterfall to the top of Åreskutan

Swedeman Xtreme Triathlon is a point to point extreme triathlon in the Jämtland mountains around Åre, raced on 10 July 2027, with the shorter Solo Point Five on 8 July.

Swedeman is part of the Xtri World Tour, the family of extreme triathlons that includes Norseman and Celtman. The course comes in three parts, a waterfall swim, a wilderness bike and a mountain trail run, and on the mountain every athlete needs a support runner at their side.

The full race starts with 3.8 km of swimming in Öster-Noren, finishing below Tännforsen, Sweden's largest waterfall. Expect undercurrents and changes in water temperature, and a steep 400 m climb on foot to reach T1 above the falls. The bike leg covers 205 km from Tännforsen through rolling, deceptive terrain where reindeer and moose are a real hazard. The run is 43 km, almost all of it on trail, from T2 towards Huså, over Lillskutan above the tree line and up to the summit of Åreskutan, before a rocky descent to the cable car top station and marked trails down to the finish.

For 12 km of the upper mountain every athlete must be accompanied by their support runner, and a safety kit is required on the run. Snow can lie on or beside the trail even in July.

Solo Point Five on 8 July is the half version: 1.9 km of swimming, 105 km on the bike and 21 km of running, for athletes who want the Jämtland setting at a more manageable length.

On Livebib you can follow a participant who chooses to share their own live position from the phone they carry during the race. That is the athlete's own sharing and not the organiser's timing, and the official results come from the organiser.
