A flat half marathon along Swansea Bay

The Swansea Half Marathon is a flat coastal half marathon from Swansea Arena through the city and along Swansea Bay towards Mumbles.

The Mizuno Swansea Half Marathon is on Sunday 21 March 2027. It is one of the most popular running races in Wales, with pacers across a wide range of finish times.

The start is on Oystermouth Road under the Copr Bay Bridge by Swansea Arena. The route passes Brangwyn Hall, runs along The Kingsway and onto High Street, turns back past Swansea Castle and Swansea Museum, and then follows Mumbles Road out to the turn at Knab Rock. Runners return along the promenade towards Blackpill Lane and the finishing straight, with about 5 miles of views across Swansea Bay.

The elevation gain is only 36 m, which makes this one of the flattest half marathons in the UK. That suits first-time runners and people chasing a personal best. Mumbles, at the far end of the course, is the gateway to the first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the UK.

The organiser describes the race as spectator friendly, with entertainment zones on the course, and the start and finish are in the heart of the city on fully closed roads.
