A winter marathon by Diocletian's Palace

The Split Marathon is a February road race weekend on the Riva in Split, Croatia, with courses past Diocletian's Palace, Marjan and the sea.

The 27th edition is on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 February 2027. It is organised by Sportski klub Split Maraton, which has held the race for more than 25 years with participants from more than 70 countries and more than 500 volunteers. The marathon counts towards the Abbott World Marathon Majors Wanda Age Group rankings.

On Sunday the marathon and the Tommy half marathon start together at 9:00 on the Riva, and the Mazda 10k follows at 9:30. The marathon passes Diocletian's Palace, the Riva, the Poljud stadium and the slopes of Marjan before following the promenade from Žnjan to Stobreč, through a city with more than 1700 years of history. The half marathon takes in the Riva, the Palace and Marjan, with views of the sea, and the 10k stays along the water.

On Saturday at 14:00 the SD Family RUN&FUN 5K starts on the Riva, with a 2K at 15:30, so families and people new to racing have their own start. The mild climate and sunny February days make Split a good winter race for anyone escaping a colder north.

Spectators have the Riva for the start and the waterfront for the long stretches by the sea. The old town around the Palace is a short walk away.
