Solvalla Trail 9 km

The 9 km is the loop itself, once. It leaves the athletics field of the Solvalla sports institute into Nuuksio National Park on narrow paths with height differences, terrain the organiser calls beautiful but in places demanding, and which can be slippery and wet in autumn. Their route map shows about four fifths of the loop unpaved, passing the Maahisenkierros viewpoint before coming back to the field.

There is one aid station, at about 6.5 km, with water and sports drink, and a finish aid with bananas and light snacks. The route is marked with sticks, arrows and tape. The 9 km starts half an hour after the 18 km, on the same loop. The finish closes at 16:00. Parking is limited; the organiser recommends car-sharing or bus 245A from Espoon keskus, which stops beside the sports institute.

A single lap means one start and one finish for anyone watching, and national-park forest in between. The runner shares their own Livebib link, which opens in a browser without an account or app, showing the position on the course line, the distance covered and a finish estimate that updates as the race goes. Anything estimated is marked as estimated, and if the phone drops signal in the park the dot is carried along the loop rather than frozen.
