Six mountain races around Ben Nevis
Skyline Scotland by UTMB is a weekend of mountain and trail races in the Scottish Highlands, with every race finishing at the Ultra-Trail Village in the Nevis Range near Fort William.
New to the UTMB World Series in 2027, Skyline Scotland by UTMB is the first event of the series in Scotland. It is based in Fort William, which the organiser calls the outdoor capital of the UK and the gateway to Ben Nevis.
The Ben Nevis Skyline, 38 km with 2100 m of climbing, is the signature race. It starts on the Fort William high street, crosses the summit of The Ben and the Carn Mòr Dearg Arête, then descends into the Nevis Range. The Grand Tour of The Ben 100K covers 90 km, following the West Highland Way to Kinlochleven before heading into remote country by Loch Trèig and Abhainn Rath. The Tour of the Ben 50K, 63 km, starts in Kinlochleven and takes that same wild route to the finish.
The Aonach Mòr Anarchy is a 21 km loop on the forestry trails of the Nevis Range. The Nevis Ascent climbs 600 m over 6 km to the Snowgoose Restaurant, and the Nevis Avalanche runs 7 km down from it on Friday 17 September. On Saturday 18 September the 100K starts at 09:00, the 50K at 09:30 and the Skyline at 10:00. On Sunday the Ascent starts at 09:00 and the Anarchy at 10:00, and spectators find every finish at the Ultra-Trail Village.
A participant can choose to share their own live position on Livebib from the phone they carry, so people at home can follow along. This is not the organiser's timing, and official results come from the organiser.
