Skagen Marathon

The organiser builds the marathon from the half-marathon route run twice. Each lap crosses heathland, follows the Grenen track and comes back through the small streets of Skagen’s old town, past Den Tilsandede Kirke, Brøndums Hotel, Drachmanns hus and the red-roofed houses. The ground is flat, with few hills, and the surface is mixed rather than all asphalt, which the organiser says is kinder on the feet. Traffic in town is partly closed during the race.

Pacers run at 3:30, 3:45, 4:00 and 4:15. The second lap overlaps with the half marathon, which starts an hour later at 11:00 on the same route, so the road fills up again halfway through. No time limit is published. Prize giving for the marathon is at 14:20 by the speaker tower in the finish area.

This page belongs to the 2026 Skagen Marathon. Two laps means the runner passes the quay area twice, and on Livebib family can see the position on the course line, the distance covered and a finish estimate that updates as the race goes — with any position carried through a signal gap marked as estimated.
