Skagen Halvmarathon

This is the route the whole road day is built on: the marathon runs it twice and Walk & Talk walks it from 10:10. It crosses heath landscape, follows the Grenen track and comes back through the small roads of Skagen’s old town, past Den Tilsandede Kirke, Brøndums Hotel, Drachmanns hus and the town’s red roofs. The organiser describes it as flat with few hills and a mixed surface, not only asphalt. Traffic in Skagen is partly closed while the race is on.

Pacers run at 1:30, 1:45, 2:00, 2:15 and 2:30, a spread that covers runners chasing a time as well as those running to finish. Starting an hour after the marathon, the half shares the road with marathon runners on their second lap. No time limit is published; prize giving for the half is at 14:30.
