A half marathon through four Royal Parks

The Royal Parks Half Marathon is a 13.1 mile closed-road race that starts in Hyde Park and finishes in Kensington Gardens.

The Oysho Royal Parks Half Marathon returns on Sunday 10 October 2027 for its 20th race. It was created in 2008 by The Royal Parks charity as the first half marathon through the centre of London, and it has since raised more than £80 million for over 1,900 UK charities, including the charity that looks after the parks themselves.

The course is one lap of 13.1 miles on closed roads. It starts in Hyde Park, heads out past Buckingham Palace, Horse Guards Parade, Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament, uses The Mall twice and passes Kensington Palace before finishing in Kensington Gardens in front of the Albert Memorial and the Royal Albert Hall. Four of London's eight Royal Parks are on the route: Hyde Park, The Green Park, St James's Park and Kensington Gardens. There are gentle undulations, but it is a generally flat course.

Water stations are planned at miles 3.5, 6.5, 9.5 and 11. The race suits first-timers as well as experienced half marathoners, and a team of experienced pacers runs on the day. Places for 2027 come through a ballot, and people who missed out can register their interest or run for a charity partner.

For spectators, Serpentine Road late in the race is the loudest cheering stretch, and the event village in Hyde Park is open to everyone. The nearest stations include Hyde Park Corner, Knightsbridge, Green Park, Victoria, South Kensington, Lancaster Gate and Marble Arch.
