Five days on ground that opens once a year

The 42nd Roc d’Azur ran from Wednesday 7 to Sunday 11 October 2026, with the Base nature de Fréjus as its hub and the Massif des Maures as its playground. Each day had its own race, and the week closed with the Roc d’Azur CIC on Sunday.

What sets the week apart is where the trails go. The organiser has permission, for the event only, to cross private properties and protected areas, and asks riders not to ride them the rest of the year. Course reconnaissance is not allowed on any of the races, so the first time most riders see the sectors is with a number on the bike.

The mountain-bike ladder runs from Mid Roc (32 km, 650 m) on Wednesday through the Garmin Roc Masters on Thursday and the Roc Marathon (100.6 km, 2,485 m) on Friday to the Roc d’Azur CIC itself (55 km, 1,275 m). Gravel riders had the new Gravel Roc Sprint from Roquebrune-sur-Argens and the longer Gravel Roc, and on Sunday the Ekoï Cyclo Roc sent road riders east along the Corniche d’Or on open roads, over 88.8, 120.2 or 178.6 km.

For people at home, a day in the Maures is long and mostly out of sight. With Livebib the rider shares a link to their own broadcast; family and friends open it in a browser, without an account or an app, and see the position on the course line, the distance covered and a finish estimate that updates as the race goes. In the valleys where the phone loses signal, the position is carried forward along the course and marked as estimated rather than freezing. The rider decides who gets the link.
