Regensburg Marathon, live.

Laps through the UNESCO old town from the Westbad

The Regensburg Marathon, held for the 35th time on Sunday 9 May 2027, is a flat race that runs mostly through the UNESCO listed old town.

The race was first held in 1990 and always takes place on the weekend after Ascension. The organiser describes the course as flat and fast, running mostly through the old town, which has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2006. Changing rooms and showers are available in the Westbad. Start and finish are at the Infineon car park next to the Westbad.

There are four distances. The marathon over 42.195 km, the three quarter marathon over 31.646 km and the half marathon over 21.097 km all start together at 08:30. Everyone first runs the half marathon lap, and the longer races then add one or two quarter laps through the old town. The quarter marathon over 10.549 km starts at 11:30. All races close at 14:00.

The lap format and the flat profile make it a good race for a first marathon or for trying the unusual three quarter distance. People who want to step up from the half can choose between three lengths on the same morning.

Because the longer races add laps through the old town, spectators can see participants more than once without moving far. The organiser welcomes participants and spectators alike to Regensburg.

On Livebib you can follow a participant who chooses to share their own live position from the phone they carry. This is not the organiser's timing, and the official results come from the Regensburg Marathon.
