Reading's half marathon, from Green Park to the stadium

The Green Park Reading Half Marathon runs through the heart of Reading from a start in Green Park to a finish inside the town's football stadium.

The Green Park Reading Half Marathon and Mini Marathon return on Sunday 21 March 2027, and entries are open. The race has been on the UK calendar since 1983, when it began at Reading University with 5,000 runners.

The start line is in Green Park, and the finish is inside the Reading Football Club Stadium, where the race village is set up. The course runs through the heart of Reading and is known as fast and scenic.

Entrants for the half marathon must be 17 or older on race day. The Mini Marathon, also called the Green Park Challenge, is open from age 4, and children under 11 must run with an adult who also enters. Race packs can be collected at the stadium, and the race guide is published online rather than printed.

The race village has a kit tent for bags, medical services and merchandise, and it sits close to the start line in Green Park and right by the finish inside the stadium. Entry to the stadium is free for spectators who want to cheer participants over the finish line.
