Autumn colours and Old Québec on foot

The Marathon Beneva de Québec, presented by Brunet, takes over Québec City from 1 to 3 October 2027.

The Marathon Beneva de Québec is the city's big autumn running weekend, part of the Je Cours Qc series run by Gestev. The 2026 edition was the 27th and sold out with more than 20,000 runners and walkers. In 2027 it again hosts the Quebec road championships over 42.2 km.

Bibs are handed out at the Expo Je Cours Qc on Friday 1 and Saturday 2 October. The 5 km and 10 km are on Saturday 2 October, together with a 2 km youth race. The 42.2 km marathon and the 21.1 km half marathon are on Sunday 3 October. Start times are published for each wave once the schedule is final.

The marathon course has been in place since 2022. It crosses three boroughs and nine neighbourhoods and works like a condensed tour of the city in its autumn colours. The half marathon is fast and scenic, passing through Limoilou, Saint Sauveur, Old Québec and Montcalm, and the 10 km stays in the lively streets of Limoilou and Old Québec. Every course is certified by Athletics Canada, so times can be used to qualify for races such as Boston.

The weekend suits first time racers on the 5 km as much as marathoners chasing a championship time. Supporters can follow the course through Old Québec and meet participants at the finish area, and the organiser asks everyone to thank the residents who share their streets.
