Two distances along Prins Bertils stig in Halmstad

Prins Bertils Halvmarathon is a running event in Halmstad, held on Saturday 21 August 2027 with a half marathon and a 10 km race.

The race is organised by Patrik Sjösten, who lives in Halmstad, with the local sports club Alets IK as co-organiser. The 2027 race is the second edition, and the organiser hopes it will become a yearly celebration in the town where people can test their limits, have fun and feel welcome, whether they are recreational or experienced.

The course follows Prins Bertils stig by the sea, a path the organiser describes as the most beautiful in Halmstad. Start and finish are at Alevallen, Kopparmöllevägen 6, where there are changing rooms with limited space and a bag drop from 10.00 that must be collected by 16.00.

The half marathon covers 21.1 km and starts at 11.00. The 10 km starts at 11.45. Both races use start groups based on expected finishing time. Half marathon participants pass drink stations at 5 km, 10 km, 14 km and 17 km, while the 10 km field has stations at 5 km and 7 km, with water and sports drink.

For people who come to watch, the event area at Alevallen has company tents and music, with drinks, bananas and other snacks after the finish. Timing is by chip, and the organiser plans split times along the course so family and friends can follow progress, with results on RaceResult during and after the races. A participant can also choose to share their own live position on Livebib from the phone they carry. This is not the organiser's timing, and official results come from the organiser.
