The last thirty kilometres, raced flat out
A new Ski Classics race that takes the final thirty kilometres of the route into Mora and turns them into a mass-start sprint for the professional teams.
Oxberg-Mora Sprint Men starts at 08:30 CET on Sunday 28 February 2027 in Oxberg and finishes in Mora, 30 kilometres later, in classic technique. Ski Classics describes it as the same iconic route from Oxberg to Mora, and calls it a short, flat course. It is reserved for the men of the Ski Classics Pro Teams, and it is brand new: there are no earlier editions to look back on.
In the series it is Event 11 of Season XVIII and the third and last Sprint event of the winter, with both Champion and Sprint Competition points awarded at the finish line. It is held the day after the women’s race on the same stretch, so the Oxberg-Mora weekend closes the sprint standings for both. With a mass start on thirty flat kilometres, the points are handed out where the race ends: on the finish line in Mora.
On Livebib a skier can share a link to their own broadcast, and family and friends open it in a browser, with no account and no app. They see the skier’s position on the course line from Oxberg, the distance covered and a finish estimate for Mora that updates as the race goes. If the phone loses its signal somewhere between Oxberg and Mora, the position is carried forward along the track and marked as estimated instead of freezing. The skier decides who gets the link.
