ÖTILLÖ Cannes Sprint

The course measures 12,060 m: 2,540 m of swimming in 5 swims and 9,520 m of running in 7 runs, with 183 m of climbing. It stays on the mainland, with the swims in front of the Croisette and the runs through the town, including a stretch along a railway line that leads up to what the organiser calls the jungle trail.

It can be raced in pairs or solo. The briefing was at 10:15 on the beach, and the organiser expected the first finisher around 12:00, with prize-giving for the Sprint and Experience at 15:00 at the finish line. No Sprint-specific cut-offs are published; the finish line closed at 18:15. Note that the Sprint page’s header shows 4 October, while its schedule puts the race on Saturday 3 October.

With the swims in front of the Croisette, much of this race can be watched from the promenade, and the gaps are the runs up into town. If the athlete carries a phone and shares a Livebib link, family see the position on the course line, distance covered and a finish estimate that updates as the race goes, in a browser with no account or app. GPS does not reach under water, so during swims the position is carried forward along the course and marked as estimated.
