Run out the year in Halmstad

Nyårsmilen Halmstad is a 5 km and 10 km road race on New Year's Eve, starting and finishing at Halmstad Arena in Halmstad.

Nyårsmilen Halmstad is a New Year's Eve race organised by SPRING HALMSTAD, a way to close the running year together with others. The organiser welcomes everyone, whether the aim is a quick time or finishing a first 10 km. The finish is a celebration with a medal, snacks, a sparkling drink and music.

Start and finish are at the Halmstad Arena athletics stadium. The organiser describes the course as fast and easy to run, on cycle paths. Those doing 10 km run two laps. The organiser says more course information is coming, so check the website closer to the day. Timing is by a chip in the race bib, and times and results can be seen as soon as participants cross the finish line.

There are two distances to choose from, 5 km and 10 km. The preliminary start times are 10:30 for the 10 km and 10:35 for the 5 km. For people coming to watch, the stadium is where the field sets off and returns, and the finish area is where the celebration happens. Toilets and changing rooms are on site, and bags can be left in the covered stand, unattended.

A person taking part can choose to share their own live position on Livebib from the phone they carry, so friends and family can follow along from home. This is not the organiser's timing. Official results come from the organiser.
