Nyårsloppet 2 km

Nyårsloppet 2 km

The 2 km is Nyårsloppet’s youth class, for boys and girls born 2011 or later. It runs on its own youth course, published by the organiser as a map, on asphalt park paths and roads around the race centre. The start falls between the 5 km at 11:00 and the 10 km at 12:00, so a child with a parent in one of the adult races can often see both their own race and the parent’s.

The fee is 150 SEK up to 20 December and 200 SEK after that, and online entry stays open right up to the start. The youth classes award prizes to the leaders, and every finisher gets a medal. The winter surface changes from year to year, so check the weather and the shoes beforehand. This page covers Nyårsloppet’s 2 km youth race in 2026.

Two kilometres pass quickly, and for grandparents who are not there it is still a joy to watch the race happen. With Livebib, a parent can share a link to the child’s broadcast, and family open it in a browser with no account and no app: the position on the course line, the distance so far and a finish estimate that updates during the race. If the phone loses signal, the position is carried forward and marked as estimated. Whoever shares it decides who gets the link.
