NUTS Ylläs Pallas, live.

From Hetta over the fells to Äkäslompolo

NUTS Ylläs Pallas is a trail running event in Finnish Lapland that links Hetta, Pallas and Ylläs through Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park.

NUTS Ylläs Pallas is held in Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park in western Lapland. The 2027 edition is on 23 and 24 July, with the event centre in Äkäslompolo at the foot of Ylläs. The organiser keeps an archive of editions back to 2013, and registration opens on 24 November 2026.

The starts are spread across the park. The 160 km follows the classic Hetta to Pallas hiking trail, continues through the night and crosses Ylläs before finishing in Äkäslompolo. The 100 km starts at Pallas and follows national park trails and forest to Äkäslompolo. The 66 km is the Hetta to Pallas trail on its own, over open fells and through deep gorges, finishing at Pallas.

Two shorter routes start and finish in Äkäslompolo. The 37 km climbs Ylläs from the Ylläsjärvi side, descends to Kellokas and joins the shorter route through the Pirunkuru and Tahkokuru gorges. The 15 km takes in Pirunkuru, Tahkokuru and the Kesänki landscapes, and suits trail runners of every level. There is also a NUTS Kids and Juniors race in Äkäslompolo.

The organiser calls the 160 km a great ultra story through the Lapland summer night, with midnight trails and the crossing of Ylläs. Runners on the 66 km get a free bus back from the finish at Pallas to Äkäslompolo, included in the entry fee, and a supporter guide on the organiser's site covers how to follow the event.

On Livebib you can follow a participant who chooses to share their own live position from the phone they carry. You see where that person is on the course right now, which helps friends and family know when to be at the roadside or the finish. This is not the organiser's timing, and the official results come from NUTS Ylläs Pallas.
