Trail running in the middle of Helsinki

NUTS HEL is an autumn trail running event in Helsinki Central Park, based at Eläintarha sports field close to the city centre.

NUTS HEL brings trail running into the capital. The 2027 edition is on Friday 8 and Saturday 9 October, based at Eläintarha sports field with the routes in Helsinki Central Park. Registration opens in 2027, and the organiser has results from the 2024, 2025 and 2026 editions.

Friday has two starts. The NUTS Kids and Juniors race is a 3 km run in Central Park for children, and the Nightfall 6K is run by headlamp in the dark. Saturday has three distances. The Intro Trail 6K is an entry level trail run, the 14 km is the middle option, and the 25 km is the longest route, described by the organiser as the classic route of Central Park.

All routes share the same park, and participants meet at the aid stations before splitting off onto their own distances. In the organiser's words, each course follows its own arc, in the same landscape at a different scale.

The organiser says the Intro Trail 6K is where your first trail run can start, and calls the 14 km a fast and versatile trail challenge. Runners born in 2000 or later get 30 percent off the entry fee for the Nightfall 6K, the 14 km and the 25 km.

On Livebib you can follow a participant who chooses to share their own live position from the phone they carry. You see where that person is on the course right now, which helps friends and family know when to be at the roadside or the finish. This is not the organiser's timing, and the official results come from NUTS HEL.
