Gravel Challenge 63 km
More than half of its 63 km run on gravel paths kept completely apart from the mountain bikers. It opens with about 3 km of asphalt and 2 km of wider gravel, then a 400-metre flow section and a short ditch crossing with a pallet laid in it. The next 35 km or so are mostly wide gravel, broken by two or three narrower tracks with nothing technical, including a 13 km loop ridden twice in the northernmost part of Gribskov. About 10 km from the finish, after Helsingevej, comes 2 km of fast, mostly downhill flow trail with many turns and bumps, and the last 8 km are wide gravel back to the finish. The organiser lists 550 metres of climbing.
There is one cut-off: riders must reach the 30 km point within 90 minutes to ride the full distance. Anyone slower is sent on a 50 km version instead. This page is about the 2026 edition of the Gravel Challenge.
The cut-off makes the first hour and a half the part worth watching. A Livebib broadcast that the rider shares shows the position on the course line, the distance covered and a finish estimate that updates as the race goes, so family can see whether the 30 km point comes in time. It opens in a browser without an account or an app, estimates are marked as estimates, and the rider decides who gets the link.
