Running out the year at Stadium Arena

Mio Nyårsloppet Norrköping is a festive New Year's Eve run of 5 or 10 km, starting and finishing outside Stadium Arena in Norrköping.

Mio Nyårsloppet Norrköping is a New Year's Eve run on 31 December 2026, a festive event where people are encouraged to come in costume and bring the family. It is organised by Norrköpings Löparklubb with Skarphagsgasellerna and sanctioned by the Swedish Athletics Federation. Everyone who crosses the finish line receives a medal.

Start and finish are in the car park outside Stadium Arena. The organiser describes the course as an easy lap through the Himmelstalund area with a section in Folkparken, clearly marked with kilometre signs along the whole way. The 5 km is one lap and the 10 km is two laps, both checked by an official course measurer. Drinks are served at the start and finish area, where the 10 km field also passes between laps.

The adult races start together at 11.00, with or without timing, and the 5 km also has a walking class without timing. Earlier in the morning, children can walk, jog or run about 900 metres for free in Nordic Wellness Lilla Nyårsloppet, with starts at 09.45 and 10.00. Spectators gather at the start and finish area outside the arena, with a warm-up in front of the stage at 10.45 and the prize giving on the stage after the race.

A person taking part can choose to share their own live position on Livebib from their phone, so friends and family can follow from home. This is not the organiser's timing. Official timing is by Racetimer, and results are published on the event's website.
