A flat Winnipeg course with a finish on a CFL field

The Manitoba Marathon returns to the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg on Sunday 20 June 2027.

The Manitoba Marathon course has hosted Canadian Marathon and Masters Championships and the marathons of the 1999 Pan American Games. In 2025 it had its first major course change in 30 years, and thanks to a partnership with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers it is the only Canadian marathon to finish on a CFL field, inside Princess Auto Stadium.

The full marathon starts with wheelchairs at 6:55 a.m. and the first wave at 7:00 a.m., with more waves after. The half marathon's elite start is at 7:00 a.m. and the 10 km starts at 7:35 a.m., with a loop through St. Vital Park back to the stadium. The Johnston Group Relay sends teams of four or five over the full marathon course, handing a timing belt over at four exchange zones.

The organiser says the route is so flat it needs no elevation map. The course closes at a pace of 8:32 per km, and there are water and electrolyte stations about every 3 km. Around 2,000 volunteers help on the day.

Musicians and DJs play along the course, and after the recovery area participants reunite with family and friends. Registration for 2027 opens on 1 December.

On Livebib you can follow a participant who chooses to share their own live position from the phone they carry. That position comes from the participant, not from the organiser's timing, and the official results are published by the organiser.
