MY100

The course is 97.7 kilometres with 4,802 metres of ascent, through technical and non-technical trail in the Virgin Jungle Reserves around Maxwell Hill. The first climb leads from Taiping Lake Garden past Murugan Temple to AS1 at Angkasa, and is timed as a Vertical Kilometre segment: the fastest man and woman on it who also finish MY100 are honoured on stage. A long descent leads to Maxwell BaseCamp (AS2), then Tiger Temple (AS3) via Speedy Hill and Burmese Pool, Spritzer EcoPark (AS4) and the durian hills of Bukit Cempedak and Bukit Melayu to AS5.

Between AS5 and AS6 runners pass through the pre-war railway tunnel. Changkat Ibol (AS6) is the midway point, with drop bags, a hot meal and support allowed. Then comes the U-turn at Ayer Kuning (AS7), Peak 300 (AS8), and the hardest section of the day: a 7 km, 1,200 m climb to the TM Tower on Maxwell Hill and AS9 at Angkasa, followed by a 10 km, 1,000 m descent to Maxwell BaseCamp (AS10). The home trail returns via the Lake Garden, Taiping Prison and Taiping New Club. Pacers are not allowed.
