MIUT Starter 16 km
Sixteen kilometres from one coast to the other across the narrow eastern end of Madeira, from the beach at Porto da Cruz over the headland to the Fórum Machico. It is the shortest race of the weekend and the one that fills with local runners and first-timers, but it still climbs a genuine Madeiran ridge and finishes through the same arch as the 110-kilometre Legend.
Because it runs on the Sunday morning, the finish is the last crowd of the festival and the friendliest. This page is the 2026 edition of the Starter.
