Swim, bike and run over three days in Nieuwpoort

Long Course Weekend Belgium is a three day festival of swimming, cycling and running in Nieuwpoort on the Belgian coast, from 24 to 26 September 2027.

The idea is mix and match. Take one discipline, combine two, or do the Full LCW, the longest distance on each day, and earn a fourth medal at the closing ceremony. The Half LCW does the same over half the distances. The Belgian edition began in 2021.

Friday 24 September is the Peaks Nieuwpoort Swim over 1.9 km or 3.8 km, in the harbour of the town and one of the few open water swim courses in Belgium. The half swim starts at the Oude Vismijn and heads towards the entrance of the marina.

Saturday 25 September is Cycle Flanders Fields over 45, 90 or 180 km through the polders and the former World War I front line, through Diksmuide and Veurne. The longest route reaches Tyne Cot Cemetery, the Menin Gate in Ypres and the Kemmelberg. It is a non competitive tour ride with no official timing, and e-bikes are welcome on the standalone ride.

Sunday 26 September is the Nieuwpoort Marathon with 5 km, 10 km, 21.1 km and 42.2 km, finishing on a red carpet in the centre of Nieuwpoort, where spectators gather for the finishes.
