A children's race through Slottsskogen

Lilla Varvet is Göteborgsvarvet's race for children and young people aged 7 to 13, run through Slottsskogen in Göteborg.

Lilla Varvet is the children's race of Göteborgsvarvet, held in Göteborg on 23 May 2027 for young people aged 7 to 13. The organiser says around 5 000 children and young people take part each year, and describes it as a race party where the main thing is to have fun, whether you go at full speed or take it at an easy pace.

There are two courses. Both start at Margretebergsgatan and run mostly on asphalt through Slottsskogen, where the organiser promises a good atmosphere and plenty of cheering. The longer course has a drinks station with water. Both finish inside Slottsskogsvallen, the same finish as Göteborgsvarvet, with spectators in the stands.

Children aged 7 to 10, born 2017 to 2020, run 1.1 km. Those aged 11 to 13, born 2014 to 2016, run 2.4 km. Start groups are set by age and course, and girls and boys start together. The first start is at 11.00 and the last around 13.10. Each child's exact start group and time are in the start confirmation, sent by email about a week before the race. A medal waits at the finish.

For families watching, there is a family area in the middle of Slottsskogen and activities with partners in the park between start and finish. Followers at home can use Livebib if a participant chooses to share their own live position from a phone they carry. This is not the organiser's timing, and official results come from Göteborgsvarvet.
