Five kilometres with a dog

A running day in Lerkil for children, adults and dogs, with start and finish at Ängås IP in Vallda.

Lerkilsloppet is held on Sunday 4 October 2026, organised by F2015 Lerkils IF. The organiser describes it as a running day for children and adults in scenic Lerkil, and the venue is Ängås IP in Vallda, in Halland. Adults, meaning anyone over 15, choose between five and ten kilometres, and our catalogue lists both with a 12:15 start.

What sets Lerkilsloppet apart from most local races is the class for dogs: five kilometres with your dog, for runners who are adults or children from age 14. Children have their own distances by age: one kilometre for ages 6–8, 2.5 km for 9–11 and five kilometres for 12–15. Results are published per start group. The organiser has not published a course description, so surface and route are a question for them.

Anyone waiting at Ängås IP sees the start and the final straight, but not the kilometres in between. With Livebib, the runner shares a link to their own broadcast, and family open it in a browser with no account and no app: the position on the course line, how far she has come and a finish estimate that updates during the race. If the phone loses signal, the position is carried forward along the course and marked as estimated, never as measured. The runner decides who gets the link.
